Kevin J. Ryan, President
We had a very successful Bunny Pizza Party, Wounded Warrior Project Fundraiser and Easter Egg Hunt, despite the snow and the cold. If anyone knows how to persevere in adverse conditions, it’s Queens Republicans.
Many thanks to the club members who helped, all the local parents who brought their adorable children, our good friends at UNO Bayside and all the educators, small business owners and Parks Department employees who made today happen for our local kids. More than 70 children and their families came out for both events with the Easter Bunny and gathered over 1300 eggs stuffed with prizes in Bowne Park, after making their own pizzas and dancing and posing for photos with the Easter Bunny at Bayside UNO. Best of all, much-needed money was raised to help our recent veterans.
Have a look at the high-res photo gallery of the day here.
We wish you and your family a Happy Easter.
Council Members Vallone and Ulrich spoke to our club about their work on the NYC Council Veterans Committee, including recent legislation with Vallone’s first bill signed into law that same day.
We also formally announced our new Queens County GOP Chairman, Bob Turner. He will be the guest speaker at our April 15th meeting.
Saturday, March 28th is the day of our NEQRC/UNO Easter breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt. It’s also Vietnam Veterans Day, so we’ll also have an all-day fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project at UNO. A portion of your check will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project to commemorate the sacrifices and disrespect Vietnam veterans had to face and how they made sure the veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan would be treated better. There’s a lot more to do, but join us March 28 for a start- and a day of family fun with the Easter Bunny!
