Our 2014 Installation of Officers and Board

Councilman Eric Ulrich, Congressman Bob Turner and 2014 Congressional candidate Stephen Labate participated in the Northeast Queens Republican Club’s installation of 2014 Officers and Board of Governors on Sunday at the Clearview Golf Course.

Congressman Bob Turner administered the oath of office to the new Board of Governors and Councilman Eric Ulrich swore in the new executive officers.

New president Kevin Ryan presented outgoing president John Watch with an award in honor of his two years of outstanding leadership. The plaque, which is shaped like a flame, is engraved with Watch’s favorite quote from St. Ignatius of Loyola: “Go forth and set the world on fire.” Ryan commented, “That’s what we have to do to rebuild the party this year. With leaders like Congressman Turner and Councilman Ulrich, we will reach out to our community and remind people what all of us here today already know: that the core principles of the Republican Party are the most inclusive, compassionate and effective way forward and upward for all New Yorkers.”

The NEQRC was also joined by 3rd Congressional District candidate Stephen Labate, who is running against Democratic incumbent Rep. Steve Israel this year. Labate came very close to defeating Israel last time, with very little support from party establishment. He stands an excellent chance of winning the seat this time and needs the support of Northeast Queens Republicans.

Stay tuned for news about upcoming NEQRC events and meetings throughout 2014, in what promises to be a critical year to rebuild the GOP.
